Rugby Station - BR Period Locomotives: lnwrrm815

An unidentified ex-LMS 4-6-2 Coronation class locomotive passes the goods yard with a down express. Frequently described as Duchesses this class of locomotive is regarded by many as the most powerful steam locomotive built in the United Kingdom. Barry Freeman writes, 'I would suggest that 'lnwrrm720', 'lnwrrm721' and 'lnwrrm815' are three photographs of the same train. The first coach (the brake van) looks to be the same one in each case. lnwrrm 739 shows a freight train, not an express. The 8F looks very much like the one just visible in 'lnwrrm 720'.'
