Ex-LMS 4-6-2 Stanier Pacific Coronation class No 46256 'Sir William A Stanier FRS' is seen at the head of a down express alongside Rugby No 4 Signal Box. The penultimate member of the Coronation class No 46256 was built at Crewe works in December 1947 to an Ivatt modified design and remained in service until withdrawn in October 1964 from Crewe North shed for scrapping in January 1965 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge. Barry Freeman writes, "I would suggest that 'lnwrrm720', 'lnwrrm721' and 'lnwrrm815' are three photographs of the same train. The first coach (the brake van) looks to be the same one in each case. lnwrrm 739 shows a freight train, not an express. The 8F looks very much like the one just visible in 'lnwrrm 720'."
