Industrial Railways:

Photos of the Edge Hill Light Railway and Foleshill Railway are currently available.

Can you help? Could you write a more detailed caption to the photographs or provide information on the on the EHLR, Foleshill Railway and other industrial railways in Warwickshire? We have initially concentrated on providing photographs which with over one thousand images is taking some time. We have only provided basic captions at this point because of the amount of time required to fully research the subject shown.

The Industrial Railways' home page is intended to provide generic information on the various lines within the county. The subsequent pages on each industrial line would provide captioned photos and details relevant to the location. As we are sure you will appreciate our knowledge in some areas is thin because the subject matter may not reflect our personal interest.

Currently we have little information on the County's industrial lines other than a few photographs of the Edge Hill Light Railway and the Foleshill Railway. Therefore any information and photographs on the lines serving the many collieries would be very useful.

Useful information would include dates when routes, stations and sheds were opened, closed or were rebuilt or had a change of name. Events, shed allocations together with details of the locomotives shown including the date built and scrapped along with personal experiences and historical notes will all add to the value of the site and to the knowledge of the reader.
