LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Looking through the passenger foot bridge at the Northfield
end of the station. The slow line is to the left and through traffic accessed
it from either of the two lines on the right. The left-hand line is from the
sidings seen in image 'mrkn526' where the coaching stock was stored. The point
work seen above is called a 'single slip' in railway parlance meaning that at
this scissors crossover only one line (in this case the middle line) has the
option of two exits. If the right-hand line had the option of turning on to the
fast up line then this configuration would be called a 'double slip'. 16th
