This close up of image 'lnwrrp88' shows the ground frame used to operate both the signals, block system and loop line pointwork.The box in the lower lefthand corner was to enable staff to communicate with the signal boxes at Harborne and the junction with the Stour Valley line. Whilst the levers used to operate the pointwork and signalling were situated on the platform the staffs held in the single line apparatus which contolled the single line working eitherside of the station were located within the building as seen in image 'lnwrrp1526'.
