Monument Lane Shed: lnwrmlsh1510b

Close up showing the shed still in full operation as the shed was being demolished section by section

Close up of image 'lnwrmlsh1510' showing the shed still in full operation as the shed was being demolished section by section. Seen on the left of the shed, as part of the original structure, is where the wall has been extended to form a screen. As can be seen this wall has been subject to recent repair with new brickwork to the column and coping stones for capping. On the right of the shed we can see that the front elevation of the structure has been removed exposing the ducting used to take away the smoke to exit via the chimneys. The nearest three-road portion still retains its front elevation which appears to had been constructed in timber in lieu of the brickbuilt version seen in image lnwrmlsh81a. The area to the left of the shed was used to store wagons and stable locomotives some in store as seen in image lnwrmlsh80.
