Looking towards Birmingham with on the right the LNWR signal
box controlling the junction and on the left the former B&DJR station. The
LNWR signal box either replaced the signal box seen in the 1880 photograph,
(image 'lnwrhiaj707a') or as might be likely was
later modofied. The island platform located between the main running lines to
Birmingham on the left and the ex-MR lines, immediately above are now long.
The signal seen at the end of the disused platform
controlled access to the ex-B&DJR branch line now being used as a long
siding for storage of wagons. The timber stored beyond the signal was located
at the site of the former B&DJR engine shed.
