This view looking from the down platform directly towards the Parcels depot illustrates the evolution of the depot and the different types of construction used. On the left the stone built platform dates from before 1873 as seen in image 'lnwrcov1282d' whilst the timber platform is thought to date from 1901-4 when the station was last rebuilt in this form. Behind the timber platform is the stone facing of the 1840 station which can be seen in image 'lnwrcov599a'. The timber building with the curved corrugated iron roof is thought to date after 1901-4.
