This close up of image 'lnwr599' showing a section of the parcels platform demonstrates the range of goods transported by express passenger services as late as the early 1950s. Motor bikes, bicycles and prams can be seen as are two large baskets a favourite means of transporting more fragile loads. The high desk to the front of the trolley was used by the clerks when recording the transit of goods in to and out of the depot.
