Shafts of sunlight penetrate the smoke and steam above ex-LMS
Patriot 4-6-0 No 45506 'The Royal Pioneer Corps'. Rebuilt from a Claughton at
Crewe works in July 1932 as LMS 5505, unnamed until a ceremony at Euston in
September 1948, No 45506 remained in service until withdrawn from Barrow Road
shed in February 1962 for scrapping by Crewe works in March 1962.
