E&WJR Double Fairlie 0-6-0+0-6-0 locomotive built by the Yorkshire Engine Co

E&WJR Double Fairlie 0-6-0+0-6-0 locomotive built by the Yorkshire Engine Co in 1876 for a Mexican Railway. New features for a British outline locomotive included the fitting of Walschearts valve gear and the use of a tapered middle section of each of the pair of three ringed barrels. It is believed the locomotive was returned to the manufacturers in 1878. JM Dunn believed that the locomotive was probably at the time of its construction the heaviest locomotive in the world and it wasn't until the final years of the line when BR used heavier locomotives in the form of eight and ten coupled locomotives.
