In this close up of image 'smjsa56' the coaching stock is wearing the pre-1909 (when the E&WJR was absorbed into the SMJ) livery of crimson lake below the waist and cream above. Later livery changes introduced by the SMJ included the addition of crimson lake above the cream waist for a short time to be quickly superceded in 1910 by painting the whole body of the coach in crimson lake.
