The original main station building comprised the peaked roof part of the structure with the single storey extensions with the flat roofs on the left being post World War One additions. The middle section between the two gables has a small flat canopy providing cover to passengers arriving or leaving the booking hall. The windows on the right are for (from right to left) - the first is for a store room, the second is for the ladies toilet whilst the third and fourth windows are for the ladies waiting room.
