LMS Route: Stratford Midland Junction - The Shakespeare Route

East West Junction Railway train approaching Clifford Chambers after leaving Stratford on Avon station in 1893 some eight years after passenger services had been restored. This engine became SMJ No 2 in 1908 upon the formation of the Stratford upon Avon Midland Junction Railway. The three four wheel coaches are only fractional longer than a standard bogie coach introduced by the LMS in 1923.
