This close up of image 'smjk26' shows the larger replacement
waiting room on the up platform and behind, the pathway that ran down from
Wellesbourne Road to the platform. The fencing is of the normal 'picket fence'
style which used vertical slats compared to that seen on the extension from
Stratford upon Avon to Broom which copied the Midland Railway's design which
had sloping slats. The attractive flower bed in front of the fencing shows the
station staff have continued to maintain its "best kept" station reputation
established in 1912 when they won the SMJ's award.
