Close up of image 'smjfc19' showing the level crossing at the Stratford on Avon end of the station and the joint signal box at the end of a very narrow platform. The platform was always too narrow and at the platform end where the photographer is standing was only two to three feet wide. This was caused by the station being constructed too close to the GWR's cattle pens and it would seem to reflect the hope of the E&WJ Railway that the GWR would at some point cooperate by allowing their land to be used to make the platform wider. Beyond the level crossing the girders forming the underpass can be seen.
