This close up of image 'smjfc15' shows both the LMS/GWR signal box (installed in 1931) and the SMJ up platform shelter. The signal box had two sets of levers, one for each company, the GWR's frame being on the left as viewed and the SMJ's on the right. Both lever frames commenced with No 1, the signal on the left above the SMJ shelter being GWR frame No 27. A BR box replaced the above in March 1960 when the junction was remodelled.
