Looking towards Fenny Compton prior to the doubling of the
track in 1942. The nearest bridge carries the Stratford & Moreton Tramway
over the SMJ whilst the bridge behind carries the Stratford to
Shipston-on-Stour road. Passenger traffic ceased on the S&MT in 1859 whilst
goods traffic continued to 1904. The rails on the Stratford to Longdon Road
section remained in place until removed for use during the First World War in
1917.
