LMS stations and trains

Looking towards Water Orton from Washwood Heath Sidings No 1 Box with the unknown LMS 4F 0-6-0 standing in the pilot sidings. The sweep of the main lines to and from Derby can be seen passing under the bridge carrying the road, seen in image 'mrwhg346', which continues on and under the LNWR's Aston to Stechford line.

The coal sidings and line to the Carriage & Wagon Co. were immediately beyond the second bridge (the wing walls of which can just be seen on the right) which is carrying the Aston to Stechford line. Beyond these were the main down sorting sidings comprising 23 tracks all fed by the 'hump' located by Washwood Heath No 4 Signal Box. 12th May 1961
