This close up of image 'mrw440a' shows the down platform structures which appears to have two buildings from two different periods. The furthest two storey structure has the appearance of an original 1842 building, in all probability the station masters house, with a single storey building attached reminiscent of booking offices found elsewhere in the region. The nearer structure is more 'modern' with its later more elaborate style of facias and arched windows and was the waiting room and booking office. The two girls are at the foot of the steps that led up to Watling Street.
