This close up of image 'mrw440a' shows the up platform waiting room in a very sorry looking state. The steep path provided access to Watling Street although there was another alternative via the barrow crossing, seen under the bridge, and via steps from the down platform. Propped against the timber framed and clad passenger waiting room is a porters barrow. Note behind the locomotive the top of a signal box can be seen.
