LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Ex-LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0 No 48700 passes Studley & Astwood Bank station on a northbound stopping train. Number 48700 was built for the LMS by the Southern Railway at their Brighton works in May 1944 and bore the LMS running number 8700. As with many modern steam locomotives it was sacrificed at the alter of dieslisation being withdrawn from Patricroft shed in March 1968 for scrapping by Drapers Ltd of Hull in May 1968.
