LMS Route: Water Orton to Walsall

Looking towards Walsall from the Water Orton end of the up platform with the main station building located on the left. Whilst relatively neat the growth of grass and weeds on the platform indicates that the photograph was taken within a few years of closure. The ubiquitous BR totem sign displaying the station's name is evident on each lamp post. At the end of the down platform, situated on the left of the island platform, was a water crane complete with a 'fire-devil' to prevent freezing in winter and also lit by a lamp post.
