Close up of image 'mrspk343' shows the up platform was
accessed both by the footbridge as well as by a footpath from the road,
adjacent to the road bridge seen in the background. The lamp posts seen on the
up platform and, as can be seen, were originally gas lit and because their
light was not powerful, required their spacing to be much closer than electric
lighting.
