LMS Route: Water Orton to Walsall

Looking towards Walsall with LMS 'Stanier' 2-6-4T No 2448, running bunker first, on a Walsall to Birmingham local train. The up platform (on the left) to Walsall was sited on the main through line at the end of which was the signal box which also controlled access to the goods yard and shed seen in the distance. The footbridge provided access to all three platforms for passengers from the park land which was situated to the right of the photograph. C1930s
