Ex-MR 0-6-0 No 58231 stands on shed 20 months after nationalisation. Built by Derby works to the MR's class 1698 design it was allocated the LMS' running number 3138 and only wore its new British Railways number for a short time before being withdrawn from Saltley shed in September 1952 to be scrapped shortly afterwards. 13th August 1949
