BR built 'Black 5' 4-6-0 No 44660 stands fully coaled but dormant outside the shed on a Sunday, the enginemen's day of rest. Number 44660 was built at Crewe works in May 1949 meaning she was just four months old when this photograph was taken. Number 44660 remained in service for fifteen years until withdrawn from Saltley shed September 1964 and scrapped the following month at Cowlairs works. 13th Aug 1949
