Ex-MR 2F 0-6-0 No 22983 is seen standing at the corner of Saltley shed's No 3 roundhouse with steam drifting from its safety valves on 11th September 1937. Built by Beyer Peacock in December 1876 as a member of the MR's 1142 class No 22983 remained in service for nearly 80 years being withdrawn from Toton shed as BR No 58159 in March 1956.
