LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 8402, wearing Saltley's famous 21A shed plate, stands cold on shed. Number 8402 was a 'Great Western' engine in that she was built by Swindon Works in July 1943 to the orders of the Railway Executive. Lasting in service just short of 25 years she was withdrawn from Heaton Mersey shed (CLC) in December 1967 and scrapped in Mar 1968 by TW Ward Ltd of Killamarsh. 27th July 1947
