LMS 4F 0-6-0 No 4166 is seen standing near to Saltley's water tank with smoke pouring from the chimney and steam escaping from the safety valves on 9th October 1932. The coal stack shows that the art of creating the stacks were akin to the building of dry stone walls. The stack would be formed by building a wall around the perimeter, its width dependent upon the height, and the area in between was then filled with smaller and less regular shaped pieces include 'slack'. Built at Crewe in February 1926, No 4166 remained in service for 36 years before being withdrawn in January 1962 from Coalville shed to be scrapped by Derby works in March 1962.
