Saltley Shed: mrsalt438a
This close up of image 'mrsalt438' shows the three
locomotives on the right of the main photograph. Number 43680, another class
1873 was built by Neilson Reid & Co in 1901 and it too was withdrawn from
Saltley in August 1962 being scrapped by J Cashmore of Great Bridge in May
1963. Finally, the remaining class 1873 member, No 43620, was also built by
Neilson Reid & Co. although this time in 1899. Seventy-five years later she
was withdrawn from Derby shed in February 1964 before Derby works scrapped her
in March 1964.
