There is obviously a good fire built up with steam shooting into the sky from its injectors as ex-LMS 'Black 5' 4-6-0 No 44814 accelerates through Saltley Junction on a class 'D' part-fitted fast freight. Number 44814 was built at Derby in October 1944 and lasted a mere 23 years being withdrawn from service from Crewe South in September 1967 before finally being scrapped in February 1968 by G Cohen of Kettering. 5th August 1962
