LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0 No 8545, carrying a 20C shed plate, stands alongside the roof-less shed. Number 8545 was built during the Second World War at Darlington to a Railways Executive order. Number 8545, later British Railways 48545, still had twenty years of service ahead being withdrawn in February 1967 and scrapped in August the same year by Drapers Ltd of Hull. 28th September 1947
