Saltley Shed: mrsalt105
Ex-MR 2F Kirtley 'curved outside-framed' 0-6-0 No 22818,
with its smoke box number plate removed, stands with its tender tight to the
buffer stop. No 22818 has Saltley's old MR number 3 cast shed plate fixed to
the smokebox door, with, Saltley's new LMS shed code 21A, chalked above. Number
22818 was built by the Vulcan Foundry in 1873 and originally wore the MR
running number 578. She ran in service until withdrawn from Bournville shed in
February 1947 to be scrapped at Derby later the same year. 24th Aug 1935
