Ex-MR 2F Kirtley curved outside-framed 0-6-0 No 22834, with crudely painted smoke box numbers, fully coaled, stands in line ahead of an unidentified LMS 5MT 4-6-0 Black 5. Number 22834, originally MR No 384, was built as a member of the MR's 700 class by the Vulcan Foundry in 1874 and saw out its life at Saltley being withdrawn in November 1948 to be scrapped in March 1949 at Derby works.
