Ex-LMS 2-6-0 'Stanier Crab' No 42946 is seen in the sidings waiting to depart. The photographer had an advantage over the man-in-the-street in choosing where to take this photograph as he was the engine's fireman. Nuneaton shed was synonomous with the Stanier moguls as most, if not all, were shedded at one time or another over their working lives.
