LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

View of the LMS built Redditch North Signal Box which opened 17th January 1926. The steps to the signal box are offset to the door reducing the risk of the signalman accidentally slipping down the steps. The fire buckets hanging from the wall were a common feature throughout railway history. Bob Essery states that according to John Gough's Chronology the signal box was renamed Redditch after this photograph was taken 6th June 1976 and prior to its closure on 10th August 1986.
