LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Nuneaton

Nuneaton Abbey Street Station: mrna49

An earlier view of the station looking towards Leicester with the cattle dock siding on the right. Probably taken not long after the Second World War the gardens on the left appear neglected when compared to the prize-winning gardens seen in image 'mrna46'. The water column has its bag anchored by the rope used by enginemen to pull the bag across the line into the tender's hole. A small brazier can be seen at the foot of the column.
