MR 3P 0-6-2T 'Flatiron' No 2039 on a down local passenger train in August 1921. The length of the train is impressive and reflects the days when the only realistic transport to other towns was by rail. Number 2039 was the fortieth member of the MR's 2000 class to be built at Derby works (September 1907) and remained in service until withdrawn from Saltley shed in November 1937 to be scrapped by Derby works in February 1938.
