This close up of image 'mrms510' shows how the down platform
was connected to the up (right) platform. Passengers were required to walk on
the footpath which crossed the line at the back of the tunnel mouth whilst
porters could use the timber boardwalk which crossed the tracks opposite the
station buildings. Careful examination shows the foot step built in to the
platform face.
