This close up of image 'mrls425' is of interest as it shows just how close residential housing was to the goods depot. In between, just in front of the housing are the MR lines which swept under the LNWR London to Birmingham lines and around to join the approach to New Street at the 'Grand Junction'. This was the historical name given to the meeting place of the MR's Derby and Gloucester lines with the LNWR's L & B line.
