Lawley Street Goods Depot: mrls302
Looking towards the main goods shed and grain store with the
L & B line running behind the shed. This photograph shows the huge variety
of traffic that once went by rail. On the left are goods stacked in what
appears to be separate sections. This might be an overflow facility reflecting
the inability of the depot to handle all of the goods traffic as to the left
part of siding can be seen with timbers laid lengthways to provide a level
surface as well as protecting the track. The date is somewhere between 1895
(when the Grain Store opened) and 1907, both dates seen in print.
