MR 4-4-0 No 523 is seen carrying its No 3 Saltley shed plate whilst on a down express train on 16th July 1921. Yet another member of the MR's 2P 483 class No 523 was built by Derby works in June 1898 and was to remain in service until November 1952 when it was withdrawn from 22B Gloucester shed to be scrapped by Derby works circa 1952.
