MR 4-4-0 2P No 508 enters Kings Norton station at the head
of a through express passenger service circa 1922. The Midland Railway cast
iron sign under the signals warns passengers about trespass and quotes the
relevant Bye-law. The two sets of signals controls the junction to Lifford, on
the left, whilst the set on the right control the main line to Camp Hill.
Another member of the MR's 483 class built by Sharp Stewart in November 1899,
No 508 was to remain in service until July 1951 when it was withdrawn from 2B
Nuneaton shed to be scrapped by Derby works in 1951.
