MR 4-4-0 No 450 passes under Pershore Road bridge as it enters Kings Norton station on 2nd August 1921

MR 4-4-0 No 450 passes under Pershore Road bridge as it enters Kings Norton station on 2nd August 1921. A member of the MR's 483 class built by Derby works, in April 1894, No 450 was to remain in service until March 1957 when as British Railways No 40450 it was withdrawn from 10C Patricroft shed to be scrapped by Derby works in March 1957. The signal box controlling the north end of the station and the junction to Lifford can be seen above the bridge. It was elevated to this height to ensure signalmen had good visibility of both areas under its control.
