LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Ex-MR 1P 2-4-0 outside-framed No 198 is seen on a cold
January day in 1925 working a local Evesham passenger train. This locomotive is
an update on the design seen in image 'mrknlms218'
and noticeable changes include a straight instead of curved running plate, only
one set of springs are above the running plate and the fitting of more modern
safety valves and dome. Number 198 was a member of the MR's 1347 class and was
built at Derby works in 1877 and lasted another five years in service before
being withdrawn for scrapping in December 1930 at Derby works.
