LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Ex-MR 0-6-0 4F No 4040, just a few months after being
outshopped new, pauses during its duties in the goods yard. Note the ex-MR
practice adopted in the early days of the LMS of placing the number on the
tender and "LMS" on the cabside. 19th April 1925
Number 4040 was built by Derby Works in January 1925 and
remained in service until withdrawn from Kirkby-in-Ashfield shed in November
1964 to be scrapped by Arnott & Young of Parkgate and Rawmarsh in March
1965 .
