LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Two early 19th century locomotives working hard on an
excursion working between Birmingham and Bristol. Ex-MR 4-4-0 class 3P No 745
is seen double heading ex-MR 4-4-0 Compound No 1001 during the summer of
1937.
Number 745 was built at Derby works in January 1904 and
lasted in service until withdrawn from Saltley shed March 1950 to be scrapped
at Derby works the same month. Midland Compound No 1001 was built at Derby
works in December 1901 and lasted in service until withdrawn from Gloucester
shed in October 1951 for scrapping byDerby in the same year.
