This close up of image 'mrkh515 does illustrate well the ornate design of the station building with its very intricate barge boards to the side of the gable end the intricate brickwork below the guttering and on the end wall. Extensive flower beds in front of the building except where access to the doors was required demonstrates the passion and pride once inherent in the life of a railwayman.
