Close up of image 'mrkh515' which shows the trailing
crossover from the down to the up line seen in image 'mrkh514' has now been removed. The ubiquitous warning
notice can be seen on the left advising passengers only to use the footbridge
to cross to the other platform. The barrow crossing being only for use by the
porters who have left a trolley at the end of the up (left) platform.
The training crossover might have been moved beyond the
bridge as a long siding leading to Kings Heath Ballast Sidings started just
beyond the bridge, or it might have been moved back to the throat of the goods
yard behind the photographer as existed in 1966 and can be seen in image 'mrkh187a' .
